2016 RYLA Conference Overview
I’m really excited to announce the 2016 RYLA Conference. As has been the philosophy of the RYLA Planning Committee over the years, we want to combine leadership skills, team building skills, project management skills and fun, fun, fun in such a way as to create a dynamic conference. Upon return to school, these skills, when applied to daily tasks, should demonstrate the value of the RYLA program.
Plan to arrive at Camp Copneconic in Fenton, Michigan for the 5:00 PM registration and cabin assignments on Thursday, April 14, 2016.
Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16th will be spent with your assigned team where class room discussions and projects will be balanced with outdoor team building on rock walls, zip lines and high wire aerial apparatus. Evening activities conclude with a pizza party and our annual dance.
Sunday will wind down the conference with a 3:00 PM departure.
As we get closer to April 14th, you will receive information on transportation. Canadians will be required to have a passport and signature documents for the US/Canadian border crossings. US students riding local buses will also learn about pick-up and drop-off locations. Those choosing to drive will not be allowed to drive any time during the conference and will get their keys return to them on Sunday morning.
